About

Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) is a 2 year undergraduate diploma course in the field of pharmacy which is approved and recognized by Pharmacy council of India(PCI). The program includes both practical and theoretical training and 6 months training at the hospital pharmacy after the completion of the 2 years course. It covers various subjects like pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacognosy,etc. This program offers various carreer opportunities to the students such as pharmacy technicians, laboratory assistants, community pharmacists, and hospital pharmacists.

SCOPE Of D.Pharm

There are many opportunities after completion of D.Pharm

  • One can get job at drug stores of private or government hospitals.

  • One can work in health clinics, NGOs, community health centres by checking the prescriptions,

  • dispensing medicines and give them advice and directions.

  • One may get entry level jobs in pharmaceutical companies at various divisions like Process Control,

  • Manufacturing and Quality Control.

  • One can also work as Medical Representative. Anyone with entrepreneurial spirit, can open his/her own retail pharmacy outlet, wholesale business

  • or surgical items shop.

  • Students can further pursue higher education and can get admitted into bachelor's degree in pharmacy. A student after completion of D.Pharm can directly apply for 2nd year of B.Pharm.

Eligibility Criteria
  • The minimum qualification required for the selection of candidates is HSSLC (Science) (10+2) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry & Biology or Mathematics with a minimum of 45% marks in case of general candidates and 40% for OBC/MOBS, SC, ST(P) and ST(H) candidates.

  • The student have to be in the age limit of 17-25 years. The upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC/MOBS, SC, ST(P) and ST(H) candidates..

COURSE OF STUDY

A candidate of Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) will deal with Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology. Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Health Education, Social Pharmacy, Human Physiology and Anatomy, Biochemistry and Clinical Pathology etc during the entire course.

PROGRESS REPORT

To maintain the growth of learing, three Sessional examinations for Theory and two Practical Sessional Examination are conducted along with weekly test before University final examination. 75% attendance is mandatory for appearing university final examination.
