General Nursing Midwifey (GNM)

After completing a GNM course, there are a variety of paths a graduate can take in order to pursue a career in Nursing. Recruiting organisa tions include hospitals, nursing homes, NGOs, dispensaries, first-aid clinics, nurse teaching companies, etc.. Some of the major career prospects in Nursing are mentioned below.

Course of Study

A candidate of General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) will deal with Biological sciences, Sciences, Fundamental of Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Medical surgical nursing. Child health Nursing, MHN, OBG etc during the entire course.

To maintain the growth of leaming. Sessional exam and pre final exam are conducted along with weekly test before council final examina- tion. 75% attendance is mandatory to enroll for council final examination along with 100% attendance in the clinical practice.

A student pursuing GNM course can appear the final examination only on English medium.

As per INC guidelines student after completion of 10+2 from any recognized board with minimum of 40% can enroll for GNM course. For the candidate of SC/ST relaxation of 5% marks is given. The minimum age requirement for the course is 17 years to an upper limit of 35 years.

Academic Session starts from the month of October every year 

During GNM Course students will be exposed to various highly demanded laboratory in the school such as nursing Foundation laboratory, Pre clinical lab, Pediatric lab, OBG lab, Nutrition laboratory etc.

They are not only confined to the facilities of school but also get clinical practical exposure on patient in various private & government health care institutions. PHCs, dispensaries and in community area around Jorhat & Golaghat district.

Collaboration has been develop with a number of hospitals for clinical practice and practical demonstration of students. Few of them are:-
